What is the Aotearoa Social Enterprise Forum? (ASEF)

The Aotearoa Social Enterprise Forum is a conference focused on bringing together social entrepreneurs with policy makers, business , local communities, intermediaries, academics, and more.

When is ASEF?

The one-day conference is on 19 October 2018.

What time does ASEF start?

Registrations will open from 7.30am, with a powhiri beginning at 8.00am.

The conference sessions will finish at 5.30 pm and you are welcome to stay for a drink afterwards.

Where is ASEF?

Wellington Zoo, which is located at 200 Daniell St, Newtown, Wellington 6021.

The sessions will be hosted across multiple rooms around the Zoo.

How do I get to the venue?

We suggest using public transport to get to the Wellington Zoo.

You could also use Wellington Combined taxis, a carbon zero certified taxi service, Zoomy, a local alternative to Uber, or Mevo, a carbon positive, cars-on-demand service.

Parking at the Zoo is free. You can park at the Zoo, or next door at the Newtown Sports Centre.

Offset your carbon with your ticket for $5

If you purchase a ticket to ASEF, you will receive a discount for the Strengthening Communities Hui the day before in Silverstream.

What sessions can I expect?

See the programme on the Programme page, we have now released the lean programme. There will some sessions for all attendees. There are three segments in the day where you will be able to choose which session you would like to attend. Ticket holders will be sent a link to book sessions before the conference day.

How can I choose my sessions?

We will be releasing tickets for individual sessions through the Humanitix ticketing platform after full programme is released so you can choose what sessions you would like to participate in. All sessions except the mini plenaries will have a cap and will be first in first served.

When you purchase a ticket you will be added to a mailing list to be notified when sessions are live.

What is the Ticket Refund Policy?

If you are no longer able to attend, we can refund you your ticket price less a 10% admin fee.

No refunds can be processed from 5 October.

What does Carbon Offset for ASEF mean?

We are designing this event to be as sustainable as possible, with no stone left unturned. Our venue partner, Wellington Zoo is already a certified CarboNZero venue, which means any emissions that could be released into the atmosphere through their daily operations are minimised by design and their remaining footprint is offset by purchasing carbon credits.

For our event, we have partnered with Ekos, a New Zealand social enterprise that generates carbon credits by planting and maintaining to New Zealand native and Pacific forests. The $5 carbon offset add-on on your ASEF ticket goes directly to Ekos.

Will I be getting any swag?

We are working towards a zero waste and CarboNZero event. We will not be giving out attendee gift bags, so please bring everything you will need for the day. There will be a downloadable app with your full programme on it, and a print at home version on the website. We'll put out a list of recommended items to bring close to the day.
