The Forum will be hosted at the coolest little Zoo in the coolest little Capital.

With over 700 million visitors a year, zoos and aquariums are the third biggest contributor to field conservation worldwide.
Wellington Zoo is the world’s first carboNZero certified Zoo, and as well as contributing to conservation field work around the world, they are involved in breeding and restoration programmes for New Zealand native species.

A number of their habitats are made from recycled materials that they’ve reused from old infrastructure, diverting unnecessary waste from landfill.
What’s more, many of the products stocked in the Wellington Zoo’s gift shop are ethically sourced, meaning that each dollar spent is supporting a local producer or artisan craft maker.

For accessibility information, visit the Zoo’s visitor information page or see their accessibility map, with a layout of the venues here.

How to get there?

Public transport:
The No. 23 buses stop right outside the Zoo.
You will need to take one of the buses to the Wellington Hospital first (for example the No.1 and No. 3 ) and transfer at the Wellington Hospital hub (stop C). You can find timetables and more details at Metlink.

Driving:
Wellington Zoo is in Newtown, about 10 minutes from the city. There is free parking at the venue and next door with four designated mobility car parks in the Newtown Park car park right next to the Zoo, and one right outside Mojo at the Zoo.

Taxi:
We recommend Wellington Combined (Carbon Zero) and Zoomy (Local version of Uber).
